Yellow Labrador Retriever (medium coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Sunny Girl is fun-loving yellow lab mix. She loves to run and play in the yard and is trained to stay inside an invisible fence (admittedly with one or two "breaches" over the years). She greets friends, strangers, and new dogs alike with a wagging tail. Car rides are a special treat to Sunny - she prefers the front seat but will sit in the back seat if there's a view out the window. If she's home, she will bark to alert you of passersby. She can sit, lie down, stay, roll onto her side, get into her crate, touch your hand on command, and respond to "let's go" (as long as there aren't any squirrels to chase). One of her favorite tricks is stealing your shoes. Don't worry, she doesn't chew them, she just takes them with her. She'll also bring you one when you come home. It's quite endearing. At the end of a long day, Sunny will happily snuggle up on the couch with you. She's about 5 years old and 73 pounds. Sunny is spayed, microchipped, house trained, crate trained (but stays in the house outside of a crate unsupervised), up-to-date on all of her vaccines (including Lyme and Kennel Cough) and Heartgard. Sunny can be a little timid around small children, especially if they get under her feet, but has shown zero issues with older children. She sits very well to have her nails clipped or Dremeled and to have her ears washed - especially if there will be a treat for good behavior. Sunny was surrendered to Haven to Home because her sister dog was no longer amused by her fun-loving nature and prefers to have her humans all to herself.
