JAKE Needs Help NOW!!!
Jake (FKA Timmy) was adopted from us this summer. His family loves him and has worked very hard with him, but don’t know what to do----he is great with them (his mom and dad), but not with their daughter and grandson. Jake does well with family members that he sees as dominant and who are his pack leaders, but he is not good with non-dominant family members. If it were just his mom and dad, they would continue to work with Jake’s issues, but he has bitten both the daughter and grandson who live in their home. It’s a safety concern, causing family tension, and straining family relationships. His mom and dad are devastated and actually are ready to make a vet appointment to have him euthanized.
Jake did not do well in our kennel, he was a little "kennel crazy", appearing to be aggressive and scaring some volunteers. (Imagine an almost 100 pound dog with a deep voice barking at the kennel door.) But he was great when the door opened and he was out of the kennel and charmed the volunteers who weren’t afraid to get him out. It is not fair or possible to return him to the kennel.
JAKE NEEDS HELP NOW.
Jake is 95 pounds of big, strong, yellow lab. He is great with other dogs, fine with cats. He loves to go to the dog park every day and is submissive with the other dogs there. He is housetrained. He has been to obedience classes and had a trainer work in the home with him and his family. He is loving, cuddly and playful with his mom and dad.
He is out of options, this plea is his last hope.
He needs a strong dominant man or a couple that will work with him and be his leader and will get a best buddy in return.
