Mason is looking for a new home because his owner's lost their home in a fire. Mason is almost 2 years old. He has been in a foster home for a few months trying to learn how to not be afraid of strangers. He is wonderful with his own foster family but becomes very protective when new people come to their house. He has never bitten and usually protects from a safe distance. He is afraid of dogs as well and will bark at them. Mason is obedience trained and exercises on the Treadmill when weather does not permit walks. He is very sweet and loving to his foster family who is hoping that someone will adopt him who lives in the country where he doesn't have to deal with so many people and dogs as he does in his foster family's development. We think he will be fine with an experienced dog handler. He will make an awesome guard dog and a loyal family member for a family that doesn't have a lot of company in and out.
Special Needs: Mason was never socialized and has issues with new people and new dogs. He is in training with Mark Cusick to try and overcome his fears. He has never bit or even tried to bite but he is so fearful of new people that it is a possibility if someone pushes him too far. He is young and we hope we can help him gain the confidence he needs to either be adopted by his foster family or become adoptable to the right home.
