Tippy is approximately 4 years old, a female blue tick coonhound mix maybe with some Great Dane in her.  Her coloring resembles blue merle.  She is spayed and up to date with vaccines. Tippy is an energetic young dog who was tied outside and abandoned by her owners when they moved away.  The Landlord relinquished her to H2H.  She is friendly, likes to be touched and petted, has no signs of aggression, is curious about everything and could use some time in a fenced in yard to just run and run.  She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and she knows some basic commands.  Tippy enjoys riding in a car and is well behaved-she is very interested in everything around her.  She is a beautiful dog with very unusual markings and a very nice temperament.  Tippy's foster family thinks she is a great dog.

UPDATE 10/8/2011: Tippy attended an adoption event on October 8 and she was very nicely behaved.  She interacted nicely with every dog she met and greeted people gently. She was very interested in everything going on around her--but was not overly excited.  When her foster family picked her up she was very glad to see them--jumped into their car and took her place calmly for the ride back home.  Tippy will make a wonderful companion especially for an active family.

UPDATE FROM TIPPY'S FOSTER PARENTS 10/25/2011:
Tippy Doo now looks like a healthy girl should look, she is absolutely beautiful. We have researched her breed due to the info people offer me.  She is 90% Bluetick Coonhound, identical to pictures online.  She can't deny her breed.  She is one and the same.  Tippy doesn't need to be crated; she is very trustworthy.  She loves to cuddle on the couch, sleep on the master bed, be with all seven grandchildren, loves other dogs, loves to wrestle and play and pretend she is fierce.  Loves to fetch her ball with bumps, loves to be outside.  She has NEVER messed in the house or near the house.  She is so pleasant and affectionate but not a licking or kissing machine.  You can tell whoever trained her was very strict. Tippy loves her chest rubbed and is definately NOT an alpha girl. She is submissive with other dogs.  Tippy still pulls on a leash if she gets excited - so needs some work on that. She doesn't always listen well outside, but we have been trusting her when we are out with her and she sticks around.  She uses her legs when wrestling, watch out!  We have grown very fond of Tippy.  We hope someone with lots of room to run will adopt her soon.  She deserves a great home.
