Rita is a special girl looking for a special home where she will consistently receive strong, positive leadership.

Rita is a very active dog with a lot of love to give. She is very loyal to her family, but also can be protective of her family. Although reactive when meeting new dogs, Rita gets along very well with her doggy foster brother and sisters and another dog that comes to visit a few times a week. She enjoys spending hours running and playing with them all. When she first arrived in her foster home, she struggled with severe separation anxiety. Currently, she does very well when crated as long as she has a canine companion near her to keep her company.

Rita enjoys going for 3 or 4 mile brisk walks or bike rides. She does well on a leash with a gentle leader, but can be reactive to other dogs passing while walking.

Although, she has lived with small children in the past, a home with older kids or no kids would be best. Rita would also do well in a home with a taller fence. A short fence or underground fence would not be sufficient to contain Rita as she can easily jump a 3 foot wall.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
