Boxer : : Male (neutered) : : Young
Bernie was found as a stray with no identification. He is 57 handsome pounds of wiggles, smiles, and kisses. At 57 pounds Bernie is rather thin, but it is not known how long he was on "his own". Bernie is up to date with vaccines and will be neutered before adoption. He gets along with other animals and seems to like children. He was recently introduced to a four year old girl who hugged and petted him. He was so well behaved at the vet's office that he captured many hearts. Bernie stepped onto the scale to be weighed and didn't flinch when the table started to elevate for examination giving kisses to anyone who got close enough. Bernie is a boxer lover's dream. It is obvious that someone did some training with this guy. He knows basic commands like sit, wait, down, and shake. He walks right beside his handler on a leash. Ninety percent of the time he is so light in hand that it seems like there is no dog on the end of the leash. His foster is working on crate training; he doesn't seem to like being crated. He bonds very fast and doesn't seem to be a flight risk. Bernie will make some lucky person or family and very loyal loving companion.
