Tugger is a 3 year old, neutered male, all black rottie/lab mix. (4/18/2011 update: Vet feels he is a full lab - just overweight). First impression is that of a real-life “Clifford the Big Dog” from the children’s books! He is healthy, UTD on vaccines, receiving heartworm and flea treatments monthly, eats well, and is house trained. He loves to ride in the car, play with his toys, and go for walks. He craves attention and loves being with people. Previous owner (petite 5' tall woman) purchased Tugger as a pup. Tugger is a bit spoiled in that he sleeps on a people bed or couch but
he follows basic commands like SIT, STAY, SHAKE and goes for his leash when he hears the word WALK. He has had both group and individual obedience training. He is not food possessive nor toy possessive. We don’t know how he is with children but he is good with other people. He gets along with most dogs. He does get along with a chicken (outside) but he isn’t friendly with 2 cats in the household who tend to hide from him. Owner thinks he may just want to play with the cats but his size is daunting. Tugger is somewhat fearful of the sound of big trucks and people verbally arguing but he is not aggressive and has no bite history. He is just BIG! He walks well on a leash. He needs a forever home where he can get lots of exercise and where people understand the strength of a large dog. Tugger is also a talker, making all kinds of sounds but none of them barking.
