Shadow is a cocker spaniel/mix whose owner had to move and couldn't keep him any more. He had lived in his original home with 2 other dogs (see Flash on our site also). In his foster home, he is living with another male cocker spaniel and they get along well together. When they go on neighborhood walks, Shadow is always drawn to the kids out playing. He likes it when the grandkids come to visit at his foster home.

We were told that he is 8 years old, although, he may be older and we have also discovered that he is slightly deaf, but it does not seem to hinder him in any way. His foster mom says that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!: he has learned to sit for treats and knows some hand signals. He LOVES to walk and when he wants to go for a walk, he'll pick up his leash in his mouth and carry it to his foster mom. His foster Mom also adds: "When we are active he is up and about and when we are sitting/relaxing he usually lays and sleeps nearby. He does not fetch but will play with his Kong and another toy we've given him. FYI he is very easy to bathe and seems to enjoy the water.

He will make an excellent companion, he is affectionate and devoted.

11/13/2010: Shadow attended his first Adoptathon today and he was such a good boy even though there was so much going on around him.

Shadow is neutered and up to date with all vaccines. Someone out there is missing a "great" companion.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
