Rose Golden....
This gentle young girl came to us as a pregnant stray from Kentucky.  We don't know her exact age, or her exact breed mix, as strays from Kentucky don't come with labels - and she doesn't need any.  We'd guess she's somewhere between 2 - 3 years old and is a medium-sized mixed breed dog with a coat as soft as silk and a gentle demeanor.  She had lots of interest at first - and we thought we had found her not one, but two potential homes - but in the time it took Rose to raise her pup to 8 weeks, they have both fallen through.  Rose will be vetted, spayed and ready to go to her forever home as of Friday, 10/22.

Rose loves all things human very, very much.  She is a loyal and devoted companion and craves human interaction and affection.  Rose doesn't mind the other dogs in her foster home for the most part, but she's not looking for a canine companion - she prefers to focus her attention on her humans.  Rose should not go to a home with small critters like rabbits or cats - she wouldn't do well with those.

Rose will jump a 5' fence if it divides her from her human - or even if she THINKS it does - so either a 6' fence, invisible fence (she would need adequate training - she has no understanding of either invisibility or boundaries as she was a stray) or a dog-walker would be a better situation.

Rose is gentle, kind, sweet, affectionate.  She is an ideal work-from-home office mate - she will just curl up at your feet while you work and wait for you to be done.  She's not demanding or excessively barky.  She's housetrained and her medium-sized frame doesn't take up too much room curled up next to you in bed.

Rose has shown that she has been taught some cues like "Sit, Come, Leave It, and Stay", but she needs your time and attention to really perfect her obedience skills. With a little time and attention, Rose could really become an wonderful addition to your life.
