Rescue a Pair!

Zora is a young, healthy Husky. She is spayed and approximately 2 years old.  Her companion, Zeke, will be neutered on October 19, 2019, and then both will be available for adoption.  Zeke and Zora must be adopted as a bonded pair.

This furry couple has been through a lot in their short lives. They were seized in a cruelty case and lucky for them turned over to Haven to Home for immediate care.  Both Zeke and Zora need some work on house training, leashwalking, and eating food out of a dish vs. the floor.  Because they were raised in a neglectful outdoor situation, Zeek and Zora weren't used to having their food (when it was available) served in dishes.  They are not the biggest fans of kitties, but they are quite friendly to dogs and people of all sizes who don't mind the pairs' bouncy energy.  This sweet couple gets stressed when away from one another. Especially Zeke shows anxiety if he's separated from Zora.  Zeke is very watchful over Zora--not possessive -- just needs to be near her.  Zeke is more demanding about his need for human attention and has been working on better ground manners :).   Zora is more playful and patient; she loves to cuddle.

Zora's front leg had been broken at the elbow at some point in her kennel life.  Without treatment it healed, but not correctly.  At first Zora was scheduled for amputation to eliminate any pain she was suffering.  After a few weeks of diligent care, it was decided to keep her comfortable with medication and not amputate at this time.  Zora is weight bearing; although, she does walk with a limp, saving the leg provides her with balance and alleviates too much stress on the opposite leg and shoulder.

If you can provide the right home for Zora and Zeke, H2H will discuss all medical records and notes with the adopter.

Please do your homework.  Although these dogs are extremely beautiful, they were bred for a purpose.  The breed may not be the right choice for just anyone seeking a companion.  Breed experience will be given preference.
