This brindle beauty is 6-year-old Rosey. Her owner moved and couldn’t take Rosey along. We were told that she came to Pennsylvania from NYC Animal Control when she was only 4 months old. Rosey lived with other dogs, including a little senior dog. She is presently in a foster home where she is the only pet and is polite to the dogs and people she meets on her daily walks. She is house and crate trained, but is not crated during the work day, she greets her foster family excitedly at the end of the day and nothing is disturbed in the house. Her foster mom does not invite Rosey into her bed at night (in case her forever home doesn’t), but when her daughter is home from college, Rosey is a willing snuggle buddy at night.
When Rosey came to us, she was a bit overweight, but her foster mom has walked her faithfully and monitored her intake and she is now fit and trim and even more beautiful. She has not been exposed to cats while in our care.
Rosey’s foster mom enthusiastically calls her an “awesome girl”! Rosey will make a loyal companion as either an only-dog or in a home that will take the time to integrate her into a multi-pet home again.
Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
