DO YOU LIKE HUGS? Marley is a sweet, easy to handle Newfie/Husky mix. She loves to give hugs, and is working on controlling the urge to show her humans how much cares for them. Still a puppy, Marley likes to carry objects in her mouth--not always puppy approved i.e. pocket change, sticks, stones, etc. She gives her "finds" up willingly, but still needs to be monitored like any puppy. Marley is housetrained and lets you know when it's time for a "break" by putting her paw on a human knee. She does like to chase deer so a fenced yard or leash is needed. If you don't have critters for her to chase, she does seem to stay by your side. Marley Jean walks nicely on leash and goes willingly into a crate when her foster family needs to away from home. She's never been crated for an entire day. Kissing she has mastered! She loves to carry toys in her mouth - often two at a time. Marley travels nicely in a car and likes to accompany her foster mom on errands. Her favorite place to sleep is in bed with her foster mom. Obedience commands that's she has mastered are: sit, down, leave it, and 50/50 on "drop it". Marley has only lived with "micro" dogs so she's a little hesitant with dogs her size. She has been to our dog trainer's home to have a play date and to assess her behavior with other dogs. At first she was timid, but warmed up and participated in playtime. Slow introductions will be helpful. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, loyal companion, Marley Jean just may be the dog for you.
