Mickey is a 14 month old boxer/pit mix who weighs 55 pounds. His family’s situation changed and they didn’t have time for him anymore.

He first went to a boarding facility where they reported that he did well with the other dogs there and became a favorite of the staff. He also charmed everyone at the vet’s office when he went for his neutering and vaccines by kissing everyone there.

He is now in a foster home with 5 other dogs and is becoming fast friends with all of them. He is also fine with the resident kitties. In his former home, he had also lived with cats and was accustomed to children as young as 3 years old.

Mickey is house trained and crate trained. He came to Haven to Home with little knowledge of leash walking or basic obedience, but he is learning those and his confidence is growing too. He is not as shy as when our volunteers first met him, but he does need a little time to let new people into his circle of trust.

Mickey is ready for a forever family that will enjoy his loving and fun personality and continue working with him on basic obedience and continue his confidence building.

If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.

We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
